Happy Saturday, guys and girls!  How's your Thanksgiving weekend treating you?!  It's been a really nice time for my mom and I!  We've been here at her place enjoying the time off of work, and also enjoying the weather.  Honestly, the weather in Southern California is absolutely unbelievable.  You should all come and visit us!!

Come Monday, I will be back up in LA, on the grind again pursuing my dreams in the entertainment industry!  It certainly is a "grind," but I wouldn't have it any other way.  As many of you know, I am very energetic - probably too energetic haha!  I try to make the most of every single day, including of course, career-wise.  There is always something that we can do to move forward on the pursuit of our happiness and our dreams.  I believe that this is something that we should all aim to do, as all that we have is today.  There are no guarantees for anything in life, so seize the day, my friends!!

I am now off to grab some breakfast with Mama Daley.  If you're in the mood for some more reading and learning about the entertainment industry, check out  acting.about.com

Talk with you all in a bit!!

This Morning....

We have all been witnessing the aftermath of what occurred in Ferguson, Missouri.  It is heartbreaking to see the pain that so many people are dealing with this morning, and throughout this entire situation.

My only comment that I truly want to share about this situation is my wish that everyone who is hurt, including the community of Ferguson, Missouri, will heal.  And it is also my hope that we as a nation learn from the events that have taken place in Ferguson, so that we can hopefully pave the way for positive changes in the future.

Time With Family and Friends!

This past weekend was a really great one.  As many of you know, my mom lives down in Orange County now - for those of you who don't know, it's about an hour south of Hollywood!  Though it's only an hour away, it feels like it's a world apart from my life in the city, and I find that having that "break" from the city is really nice sometimes.

Don't get me wrong; I certainly love the wild and exciting life that Hollywood constantly provides to me by pursuing a career in entertainment!  However, I've also found that simply being down by the ocean with my college friends and my family brings me just as much happiness, and sometimes more!

My main objective for this blog post is to remind all of you awesome guys and girls that doing what makes you feel happiest, and spending time with those who you love, is truly the most important thing in life.  We only live once, so make sure that whatever your passions are, you do everything within your power to make your dreams your reality!

THANKSGIVING!  Woooooo!  I love Thanksgiving!  In fact, I wish that Thanksgiving was every single day, as more people would realize - and be thankful for - what and who they have when they have it, and appreciate it!  It sometimes seems like that old saying, "you don't know have what you've got until it's gone" has some truth to it.

But we don't have to let that happen!

Life can get extremely hectic, there's no denying that.  However, it is crucial that you don't lose sight of the beauty that comes with each and every morning.  We're not guaranteed anything in life, and I believe that we must do everything possible to stay "in the moment" in life, and appreciate every moment and appreciate the people in our lives.

This morning when I woke up, admittedly, I was thinking about a lot of things that were worrisome to me.  These thoughts began to create anxiety within me, and I was not even out of bed yet!  So, I decided that I'd walk out to my balcony, and simply watch the sunrise.  (I didn't look directly at the sun because obviously we should never do that!) Haha.

While watching the sunrise, I began to forget about what I had just been worrying about, and I was yet again reminded about how fortunate and thankful I am to simply be able to see the sunrise, to be alive, and to live in a place that I love.  And to be free.  And to be happy.  And a million other reasons!

The point is, my friends, try not to get too caught up in the worries, or the craziness of life, and do what you can to remain thankful for this moment.

Thank you for being my friends!

It's 11/11 - Make a Wish... And Then...

Happy Tuesday, my friends!! It is a beautiful (yet somewhat cloudy) day here in Los Angeles!  I feel like we literally never see clouds in California.  Weird, but awesome, seeing as though I love the sunshine.  (We DO, however, need rain!!)

So, what are your plans for the day?  I hope you're living your dream today!  By the way, "living your dream" also includes being on the path of living your dream.  If you know what you want to accomplish, and if you are doing something every single day toward your goals, then you are already living your dream!

Not Living Your Dream Yet??

If you feel like you're not currently living the life of your dreams, it's up to you to make a change! Don't just wish for a change, but make an active effort to do something every day to reach your goals!

It is 11/11, however, so I think it's a great idea to go ahead and make a wish for all of your dreams to come true, in life and in love!  But after you make your wish, make a plan for yourself to make your wish come true!  It takes a lot of hard work and perseverance in order to create our dream life.

It's important to appreciate the day that we have today, too.  I believe that living any dream life involves living each day with happiness.

LOVE YOU ALL!!

PS - I just posted this song cover, please let me know what you think about it! xxxx

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday, my friends!  It's shaping up to be another incredibly beautiful day here in Southern California!  My mom and I (Mama Daley!) were blessed to be able to spend a lovely day on Newport Beach yesterday.  Just to paint this picuture for you all:  The air temperature was about 85 degrees, and the water was probably about 67 degrees if I had to guess.  That's still incredibly warm for November, even here in California!

I was able to spend time yesterday simply appreciating life!  I aim to do this all the time, but, I'm only human (as my friend Daniel often says!) and there are days where it can become easier to get wrapped up in things that are not positively influencing my life.  We must always focus on the positives, my friends.

It truly is my hope that you wake up today with a smile on your face, and a positive outlook towards the day.  All we have is the day, the moment, in front of us to do what we can to feel great about our lives!!

The reality is that we cannot change the past.  If something bad happened to you in the past, don't give in to feelings of regret or depression.  If you need to seek professional help, do so.  You owe it to yourself to feel good.

TODAY:  Focus on the positives.  There are many.  (Including all of you, in my life!!)

Love of Love! - J xxxx

LA... You Are Wonderful

Happy Wednesday, guys and girls!!  I quickly wanted to express my undying love for the city of LA. In fact, I am somewhat obsessed with California in general!   If you have never visited us here, I think you should come on out!!  It was almost 90 degrees today, and it's November 5th!!  That is actually crazy.  And I love it.

Speaking of crazy, I love craziness.  Which is part of the reason that I love living here in California. Last night, when Governor Jerry Brown was re-elected, he spoke about his pride for California, and how it is such a "creative state."  Admittedly, I didn't see his speech, but my mom told me all about it.  And I agree with him 100% about the creativity the people in California.

My fellow Californians are among the most amazing - and artistic - people that I have ever met!  And what is also amazing about California is that most of us truly love where we live.  It's great to appreciate where you live.

I hope that you all love where you live, too!  If you're not thrilled about your hometown, come on out to California.  Let me know when you get here, and we'll hang at the beach!

Love you guys and girls!  --- And LOVE YOU, California!!  :)

This Past Halloween In Hollywood Was...

Incredibly exciting, and a little bit rainy!  I am still in shock that it rained on Halloween - I mean you guys it literally never rains in Southern California.  We certainly need the rain though, so it was very much welcomed!!  I actually can't believe that it's over, and that it's November!  Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and then it's the holidays!  So crazy!!

Anyhow, happy Tuesday evening, my wonderful friends!  I'm sitting here at my computer in my apartment while listening to Ed Sheeran.  Yep, he is the man.  I'm listening to his awesome song, "Thinking Out Loud."  I plan to cover this song soon, so I'll keep you all posted!

So, back to Halloween!?  I hope that you all had a ton of fun.  You know, Halloween is quite a remarkable day (and night!), as people are able to dress and act exactly how they want to - and nobody looks twice! In fact, it's a lot like Hollywood every single day hahah. This is part if the reason I love Hollywood so much; there is diversity!

Although I dressed up as a tiger for Halloween this year, (and the last two I think haha), I can honestly tell you that regardless of what day it is, here in Hollywood, most everyone is accepting of each other's differences!  I could actually dress up as a tiger whenever I want to, and blend right in, should I choose to do so!  It's pretty awesome.  And it brings me to the point of this particular blog post:

BE YOU.  This topic is essentially the reason that I started my blog here on Behind The Sign; to give you a glimpse of one individual's experience here in Tinsel Town.  And what makes each and everyone of us an "individual" is when we truly embrace who we are, and when we live truthfully.  As is true with acting, true magic occurs when you live in the moment, and be truthful, and real.

You're perfect just as you are.  Check me out as a tiger in the video below.  Rawr.  Haha x
