Reflecting on Your Accomplishments

Hey what's up guys and girls!  Happy Holiday Season!!

I uploaded a quick video yesterday to help to remind you to take a few moments to recognize your accomplishments.  And I think it's super important to do this on a regular basis.

Often, we focus our attention on what we don't have or what have not yet accomplished. In a certain way, this can be motivating to help us to set goals.  But, if we spend too much time focusing on what is lacking and what we do not have, or how long it is taking to achieve a goal, we can begin to feel depleted.  That's never a good feeling.

It's time for you to appreciate the good of a job you're doing today on the path to achieving your goals!

Personally, I work in the entertainment industry and have made a living as an actor and a writer for the past 8 years.  As an actor, I've experienced "background acting" gigs as well as "principal" roles, and every role that I've ever played has taught me a lesson. Most notably, I have seen that regardless of how big or small a role may be, what is most important has to do with what I've done with the opportunity rather than how big the actual role might be.

For example, when I first started in Hollywood - and even to this day - I constantly hear actors discussing how "background acting is a waste of time and cannot help to progress a career."  However, it is through working as a background actor that I have been able to work as a principal actor in national commercials, TV series and in films!
The reason why I'm sharing this is because literally every single time that I'm booked as "background," I remind myself that I'm not any less significant than any other individual on set.  I often tell myself, "I'm not in the background.  I'm right here, with everyone else." Having a positive mindset is incredibly important.

Success has everything to do with how you see yourself.  Every single one of you is equally important and every person reading this has so much to offer our world!  But you can't allow yourself to feel insignificant or unworthy of success.  It is crucial to depend on yourself to be your own friend and to remind yourself often of your accomplishments.
Celebrate all victories, large and small, along the journey to accomplishing your goals, friends.  You deserve it!

Talk to you soon, and please leave a comment on my video if you like it!  (Link is above!)

P.S.  I'm working on a new song cover, that'll be recorded pretty soon! x

What's the Worst That Can Happen?

Happy early Wednesday morning, guys and girls!  I hope your week has been off to a good start.

Can you believe it's already the first week of December?!  What the heck!
I am definitely excited about the upcoming Holidays and I'm heading to the FLORIDA KEYS (!) with my friends and family for Christmas!  We leave on Christmas Eve and I will be back in L.A. after the New Year.  I'll have a video up on my YouTube Channel which will document some of my trip!  (And if any of you are reading this and live in the Keys, - especially Key West - let's party at the clubs!!  Haha.)

OK, so, onto the topic of today's post:  "What's the Worst That Can Happen?"

In a "One Minute Motivation" video that I just posted on my YouTube earlier today, I briefly mention a few thoughts about this subject.  In short, we all need to recognize how fear can hold us back from reaching our full potentials.  And in order to overcome fear, we must look at what scares us and ask ourselves the question, "What is the worst thing that can happen?"

In literally every area of life, from careers to relationships, we will never know what could be possible if we do not try.

Most of the time, people fear failure or they fear success (and the responsibility that comes with it).  But when we ask the question about what could be the worst possible outcome of taking a risk, usually, the answer is that regardless of what happens, a lesson will be learned.  Lessons are what life is all about.

Don't be afraid to take a leap of faith (a responsible, not reckless!) leap toward your dreams to reach your full potential, friends.  You can't ever truly "fail" if you learn a lesson.

Go for it,

Jesse x :)
