It's Christmastime in the City!

Happy Sunday evening everyone!  I hope you've had a fantastic weekend!

I am very fortunate to be able to tell you that my weekend was an awesome one.  I worked hard and played hard haha.  My friends had an amazing Christmas party on Saturday night, and you can check out my Instagram page if you'd like to see just how "naughty" things were!  Haha. Here's the link!  ;D

And speaking of links to my Instagram, I also recently posted a little cover of "Silver Bells" the other day and I hope you enjoyed it!  As the song goes, "It's Christmastime in the city!"  This is certainly true here in L.A.  The palm trees around the city are all lit up with Christmas lights, and it even feels like winter as it's actually been quite chilly for the City of Angels!

It's incredible to think that Christmas is just around the corner now, and I'm so excited! I'll be seeing my twin sister, Shannon, and my aunt Jeanne (who we refer to as "Nini") and we'll be heading up to Northern California for a little getaway for a few days!  I feel very lucky to have some time to spend Christmas with the family.

It is so important to truely value the time that we have with our family and friends. Nothing is ever guaranteed - including time of course - so during this holiday season, try to be fully present and appreciative of the moments that you have with loved ones!  This time of year tends to bring with it many reminders to be thankful, and being thankful for time that we have with those who we care about is just one more reason.

Talk to ya soon, friends!  A few interviews with some amazing casting directors will be published soon, right here on Behind the Sign!  Click that "Interviews" link at the top of the page and you'll be able to check them out once they're posted!

Love yaaaaaa! x

Makin' Music

Happy Sunday, guys and girls!

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend full of love and happiness.  My weekend was lovely here in LA, and in addition to the love and happiness that I experienced through being with my friends, I also added another awesome element:  MUSIC!

I've spent the last several hours playing my acoustic guitar and learning on a keyboard that my friend has let me borrow!  I've been playing my guitar for quite some time now, and I posted a short cover of one of my favorite Christmas songs - "Silver Bells" - to my Instagram! (Here's the link, but I'll warn you, I screwed up one of the chords - sorry!!  Haha.)

After my lil rendition of "Silver Bells", I plugged in the keyboard and starting getting to work!

I grew up playing piano and singing, and I must say, I was quite good as a child!  I stopped playing for a while, and now I literally feel like I can't remember anything that I learned about the piano!  (Thankfully YouTube piano tutorials are helping me!)

I've just been working with the basics of the keyboard all over again, even after having had years of training in the past. But what has been really great is having the understanding that we are always able to grow and improve, even if it means starting back at square 1.  In my case, I'm starting completely over in piano, but there's nothing wrong with that!  In fact, it's a wonderful feeling knowing that I have the opportunity to try!

My point here in my post, friends, is to never stop striving to try new things and never stop your pursuit of learning more!  Each and every single day is an opportunity to improve as a person, and it's important that we all take advantage of the time that we're given.

I often think to myself that if I strive every single day to be a better person than I was yesterday, then I'm doing a pretty good job!  All we can do is try to be the best that we can be, and if you try to do that, you should be proud of yourself.

Here's to improving even more tomorrow, guys and girls!

Lots of love,

Jesse x

Friday Night Lights

Hey guys and girls!  Happy Friday evening!

Although the title of my post is "Friday Night Lights," I'm literally referring to the Christmas lights that are on here in my little apartment, not a football game.  I'm really not a football type of dude.  I'll stick to surfing and skate boarding!

Anyway, friends, I'm having an extremely chill night, and it's really nice! As many of you know, I have a lot of energy!  Probably too much energy!  But sometimes, it's great to simply enjoy a relaxing night in.  Only sometimes though.  Not very regularly haha :D

If you're also having a chill night and if you're looking for a little bit of inspiration, check out my latest YouTube video!  I hope it will inspire you to be who you are constantly and to always accept yourself!  You're an amazing guy or girl who is reading this, and you should truly be proud of who you are.

Here's the link to my latest YouTube video!

Talk to you this weekend!  And I'm SO excited to post an interview soon with a prominent LA casting director!!  You'll love this interview!  :D

Guys and girls!  How are you!!

How was your Thanksgiving?!  It's been a little while since I've posted here on Behind the Sign and I wanted to check in with you!

All has been going well with me.  I was incredibly fortunate to have spent my Thanksgiving in the Caribbean!  I'll be posting a video from that trip pretty soon onto my YouTube channel under the "Daley Destinations" section!

It's great to be back here in Hollywood now amongst all of my amazing friends.  I believe that it is important to try to celebrate Thanksgiving every single day by reminding ourselves of just how much we have to be thankful for.  There are so many things to be grateful for.

When you're experiencing a tough time, it can be more difficult to fully appreciate the gifts that are a part of your life. However in order to fully experience life and all that you have been provided with, I believe it's necessary to look around and do the best that you can to live it up as much as possible, even through the challenging times.

Remember, friends, each new day is a brand new opportunity.  It doesn't matter where you were yesterday.  All that matters is that you're moving forward to being the best person that you can be.  And I think you're all doing a fantastic job.

Love you!

(Also, I'll be adding a new interview with an amazing casting director here on my blog very soon!  Stay tuned!!)
