Speak From your Heart

Happy Thursday, my friends!  I thought I'd take a minute to just share my thoughts about communication, emotions, and "speaking from your heart."

All of us are emotional beings, and we interpret (and express) our feelings differently.  In our relationships with other people, it is important to keep the lines of communication open - at all times!

Whether you are involved with a friend, a family member, your boyfriend/girlfriend, the healthiest relationships are the ones that involve complete honesty - and complete openness.  In order to achieve these healthy relationships (or improve the relationship that you're currently in,) I suggest that you never hold back your feelings or your thoughts.

It's equally important that you not be afraid to express your feelings.  The people who love you will not judge you.  In fact, they will listen, and they'll be willing and eager to help the relationship grow. The best people to keep close to you are the ones that love you for exactly who you are.  Show your true colors, speak from your heart, and always be YOU.  Because you know what?  You're perfect, (just the way that you are!)

MUCH LOVE x ;)

Hey guys and girls!! Just wanted to remind you all that you are awesome. I really mean that. You do not ever need to try to be anything or anyone - just be YOU. There is only one of you - and the world needs to know you - because you are unique. Embrace your individuality!! X

One Day At A Time, My Friends!

Happy Tuesday, my friends!  I hope that your day is off to a great start.  I woke up this morning with an overload of ideas in my head about what I can do towards my goals today!  Exciting, yes?!  Well, it's great to have lots of ideas, but I began to start feeling overwhelmed.

As I've written before, it's very important to not allow yourself to become overwhelmed.  It is simply not healthy, and when you feel overwhelmed, you're not able to accomplish as much as you could if you sort out one thing at a time.  As an actor, we live a lifestyle that has a lack of "structure."  It's part of  in our career.  While it can be very exciting, this can also lead to feelings of being overwhelmed, as there is SO much to do!

The same may be true for many of you as well, in your careers and in your lives.  When you do begin to feel overwhelmed, take a step back, and just relax.  Remind yourself to take everything in life one day at a time, (<--- that's an article I wrote for acting.about.com!) and don't stress.

Life is too short!!  Enjoy your day, and don't allow yourself to become stressed out!  :)      x

Tuesday Thoughts

Happy Tuesday my friends! Just wanted to share a few thoughts about life and love with you all!

I feel that we all must push ourselves in all areas of life: in our careers, in our friendships and in our love lives. It's easy to become complacent - but you cannot allow that to happen.

In your career, always aim to go the extra mile! This might be difficult at times, and in acting, we sometimes don't feel that we have much control over when we will be hired for a job. However there are always things that we can do to work on our craft and work on other skills that can help our career. This is true in all professions!

In your friendships and your intimate relationships, keep things exciting! Remember that the people who are in your life may not always be there, so always find reasons to keep things exciting and never take anyone's time for granted. Time is the most valuable gift that we can give to others. If someone gives you their time, be sure to value it (and expect the same!)

Just a few thoughts that I wanted to share with you! LOTS OF LOVE x

Hope Is The Best Stimulant Of Life!

Good MONDAY Morning, my friends!  Is your day off to a great start?  I hope so! I just did a broadcast / podcast that you can listen to here!

I quickly wanted to share a little "fortune" with you!  This fortune was found on the ground this weekend, over at Venice Beach.  As you can see, it reads, "Hope is the best stimulant of life."  I love this little fortune, as we all need to be reminded once in a while that we can never give up hope!

Not giving up hope, chasing your dreams, and living truthfully are a recipe for a living a complete, full life.

Enjoy your day xx

Embracing Your Individuality! - AND Happy Pride Weekend, L.A.!

Hello and happy Saturday, guys and girls!  I hope you're having a wonderful morning so far.  I'd also like to wish everybody a very happy "Pride" weekend in Los Angeles!!

Regardless of one's sexual orientation, "Pride Weekend" (which is a celebration of the LGBT community)  is a great reminder to always be yourself, and to embrace your individuality.  There's only one of you - and it's important to show the world who you are - no matter who you love!

You know?  Diversity is truly awesome.  It is what allows us all to learn from each other's differences, and it's important for us all to take the time to want to learn about one another.

In my life, I have always yearned to surround myself with people who live truthfully, and I'm lucky to say that I've done pretty well so far, especially in terms of my career choice!  In the entertainment industry, I can honestly say that I've been blessed to meet many, many diverse individuals who are being true to themselves.  Diversity is just one of the many reasons that I love the industry that I work in.

My friends, if you're in Los Angeles, I hope you have a very happy and safe "Pride Weekend."  And regardless of whether you are "gay," "straight," "bi," or somewhere in between, just be yourself and love yourself for who you are.  You are beautiful!     xx

Take Control of the Day!

Happy Wednesday, guys and girls!!  I just wanted to send you a quick reminder that anything is possible.  Do not limit yourself in your life!

Working in entertainment, people can quickly become discouraged when you do not see the results that you might be hoping to achieve.  This is true in all areas of life, too.  Feelings of discouragement will not help you at all.   (Check out my article about courage here!)

You must understand that (whether you're an actor or not) you are a courageous, unique, and incredible person!  Do not allow anything or anyone to stop you from reaching your full potential in life.  Take control of TODAY, regardless of how difficult things may be in your life right now.  You WILL get through it, and there are many people around you that love you and will always support you.

Also, please do something for me right now.  Just remind yourself that you're beautiful.  It is a fact.  :)
