What's up guys and girls!!  Happy Friday night from Daleyplanet!  I want to dedicate this post to all of you - the DALIENS!  Thank you so much to all of you for being a part of my twitter-world.   "Daleyplanet" has grown to be quite an amazing place over the past couple of years, and it is all because of YOU!  Everyone needs a place to feel accepted and loved, and collectively we have created that place online!  As you can see from the picture attached, BENICE and I love having you all in our lives.  :)

Honestly you guys, it still amazes me that I've made so many friends and connections through social media.  I often write about how important it is to be yourself, and embrace your individuality.  You can do that on Daleyplanet, and you won't be judged - ever.  On this planet, love is the only thing that goes around, never hate.

I believe in all of you, love you guys and girls, and I truly appreciate our friendships.

NOW - I am off to have several mai tais, seeing as though it is Friday.  Hahah.

LOTS OF LOVE!

There's a Bit of "Openness" About Myself in this Post...

Happy Thursday, guys and girls!!  I meant to post this Wednesday night, and yes - to my friend Chrystal - I forgot to post it!!  :)

As many of you know, I always aim to be as honest as possible with everyone, especially you, my reader friend!  There are obviously certain things that I prefer to keep semi-private about my life, just until (or if) I'm ready to share them with other people.  I've shared certain struggles with panic-attacks with you here on my blog, as well as certain other fears and phobias.

One of these phobias that is super annoying is the fear of getting sick.  I've probably mentioned before that I get nervous about germs and all that stuff - (the amount of hand sanitize that i use is ridiculous.)  It's kind of funny sometimes, but through all of it, I feel like I've learned a lot.

Namely, I've learned to really take my own advice about focusing on the current day, and not worrying about the future so much.  When you work in an industry that has so many unknowns - such as entertainment, - I feel that the brain tries to create certain aspects of life that we have a sense of "control" over.  For me, my mind seems to obsess about germs and all of these things - making me feel like I have "control" over my health.  And to some degree, I do have some control over health, and avoiding germs.  I don't do any drugs, (yes, I have a few mai tais here and there!) but, I take really good care of myself.  The rest however, is essentially out of my control.  Why should I worry about getting sick, when today, I am healthy?  My friend Liz always says, "don't worry about things.  You'll deal with them when they happen."  Very good advice!!

Anyways, this is a sort of random post about my inner thoughts I suppose haha, but my POINT is that I do hope all of you focus on the present day and try not to worry about things that are largely out of our control.  Focus on NOW!  And speaking of NOW, it is the best time to follow your heart and your dreams.  Click here :)

Last Night Was Awesome..

What's up everyone!!  Happy Saturday!  It's another beautiful day in California - it's almost 80 degrees here in LA!  It's still January, but honestly, it's starting to feel like the summer!!  It's crazy. And I love it!  As I often write about, I'm a little-too-obsessed with the sunshine!  I have tried to be a lot better about keeping the SPF on!  I hope that you're all very careful about sunblock, too. Anyways..now that I've reminded everyone about sunblock..on to my post haha!  ;)

Hollywood is such an incredible place to live.  As some of you know, I jokingly refer to it as the "Intense-City," and this "intensity" is one of the reasons that I love it here so much.  People come to Hollywood from all over the world, and there are an incredible amount of talented and kind men and women here.  I had the privilege of meeting a group of actors last night who are an example of this. Everyone that I met expressed how happy they were to be here, living their dream.  I spoke with fellow actors, singers, writers, and I learned from each person.  I learned more about life, dreams, "going for it," and overall, to always do what makes you happy.  I hope that some of my friends (old and new) will read this, and really understand that I appreciate listening to them and their stories.

Each of us have a unique story to share about our lives.  Don't be afraid to share your feelings.  I find that writing is a great way to do this.  (It's also very helpful to others to share your experiences and thoughts!)  We're all going through something tough.  It's a part of life.  However, by sharing our thoughts and experiences, we can learn so much!  If you're reading this and haven't started a blog, for example, I suggest that you start one!  And send me the link - I'd love to learn from you, my friends.  :) Here's a link to some suggestions on starting a blog of your very own!  (Although this article was written for fellow actors, I'm confident that some of the information can help non-actors, too!)

Have a great day.  AND, if you'd like to see a little clip from me singing NEW YORK, NEW YORK, last night - here's the link!  Hahah.

LOTS OF LOVE!

It (WAS) National Hug Day!

What's up guys and girls!!  It's National HUG Day!  Hugs are great, aren't they?        --- OK I'm not going to lie, I started this post yesterday and am just finishing it now haha.  I love hugs.  I think that sharing hugs and love is one of the best things that we can do every day.  Because I'm kind of weird with germs, kisses don't really do it for me (unless it's super intimate, obviously.)    ;)

I hope that your week has been a great one so far.  It's hard to believe that it's already Thursday!!  I'm off to the set today - just background work - but again, as I often write about, background work is a great way for actors to meet people and learn a lot about the business!  I'm excited!

You'll find lots of information about background work on acting.about.com.

I'll write a longer post next time, guys and girls!  And in the meantime, go give someone a hug.  :)

Quick Thoughts..on a #Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, guys and girls!!  As some of you may have seen from my Instagram post yesterday, (here's the link) I basically told one of my new friends in my acting class that "Hollywood has turned me into a 'wild animal,' " in attempt to be funny, while referencing my tiger ears beanie that I was wearing.  It was kind of awkward, (maybe a little bit true,) but most importantly, my own comment reminded me to simply BE ME.

There is nothing more important (and satisfying in my opinion,) than loving who you are and being the best YOU that you can be!  As an actor, it is the one factor that sets you apart from every other actor!  (LINK)

My twitter, "DaleyPlanet," has always been a place where love is in abundance.  Thank you all for being a part of it.  I hope that you will continue to share your love with each other, and also with yourself!

Have an awesome day, live it up, and be yourself.

The Little Things

Good morning, friends!  It's another beautiful day in L.A. on this lovely Sunday morning!!  I haven't had any coffee or breakfast yet, however I'm still feeling quite energetic as usual haha.  Last night was an amazing time with my great friends, Kate, Matt and Lucas!  (Kate mentioned that she reads these posts, so HI KATE!  Thank you for always reading these and just being awesome overall!)

You know, the Hollywood nightlife scene is quite intense.  (Remember, this is the "Intense-City after all!") And I must admit that I love every minute of it!!  One thing that I can't ever  seem to understand, however, is how quickly the next morning comes.  It's possible that the rum punches and the dancing interferes with my ability to keep track of time (ha), but I find myself yearning for time to "pause" during nights like last night.  I never want any of it to end.  There's got to be a time-warp that occurs between approximately 10PM-3AM..

Anyway, enough of those random thoughts!  The reality is that the morning has come again!  But this morning was a little bit different than other mornings for me.  I've really tried to take in each moment.  I mean, I always try to do this, but life can get hectic very quickly.  It's so important to take a look around your room, your environment, and appreciate the little things that we don't always pay too close attention to.  For example, there is a humming bird that frequently visits my balcony and my humming bird feeder.  I was on my balcony this morning, and I was taking a moment to listen to some other birds chirping away, and I thought about how I haven't seen the humming bird in a while.  I realized that the humming bird feeder was empty!  The poor lil guy has probably been starving!  I've kind of missed seeing him come by so often, even though I don't always pay too much attention to this type of moment on a "normal" hectic day in Hollywood.

By simply slowing down to listen to the other birds, I came to the realization of how important the humming bird is to me!

This is sort of a random story I suppose, haha.  But my point is that if we all try to slow down a little bit sometimes, we see things that we might miss if we're constantly thinking about what's next.  I hope that you'll take a couple minutes today and appreciate the moment that you are given.  :)

Hope you have a great Sunday!!

Today Was an Example of What It's All About!

Happy Saturday evening, my friends!! How's your weekend been so far!?  I have had a great day filming a project with some great friends!  I don't want to give anything away just yet, but don't worry, as soon as everything is completed, you'll be the first ones to see what my friends and I have been working on!!

While I was working with these talented people today, I was reminded yet again of how fortunate I am to be able to pursue acting.  As the title of this post reads, "today was an example of what it's all about!"  The craft is amazing and I love it.  However, what I truly love the most is getting to see other people work, witnessing their talents, making friends that have similar interests, and having the privilege to be on this journey.  Artists are such incredible people, and creativity is a beautiful part of our world!  In fact, I recently posted an article explaining why I believe actors are gifts to the world. (Click here for the link.)

Regardless of whether or not you consider acting to be a gift of your own, I encourage all of you to embrace the creative side of yourself.  Find something within yourself that you can share with others. You have a gift, and whether you see it today or not, it's within you!

Let your light shine, my friend!

I Got To See The Ocean Today!  As You Can See From The Photo...

Picture
...it has been a beautiful day!  I was over in Santa Monica this afternoon, which is honestly gorgeous.  It's still hard for me to fully comprehend that it's the middle of January!  We are very blessed to have lots of sunshine in California.

While I was at the beach today, I did a lot of thinking.  I often find myself lost in random thoughts about life, death, the meaning of everything, my "purpose," all of these things.  As I looked around, I thought about times past at the very same location at the shore with friends.  No, it wasn't too long ago, however, it's strange to think that those times are all "over."  How is it that time flies so quickly?

I suppose it has a lot to do with having fun!  I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy every single day - and the reason why is that I'm living a dream.  My dream.  The experiences that I have had and continue to have are all happening because I thought I'd go after what my heart felt was the right thing to do.

This is not to say that every day is a "perfect" day.  There are ups and downs for sure, however, the day can never really be too bad if you're living a life that you want to be living!

I encourage all of you, my friends, to follow your heart in all areas of life.  Go after who you love, go for your dreams, and your passions.  The moments that we have are brief, and - as mentioned above - once they are gone, they're gone.  Just like the ocean waves, life rolls forward all the time.

Focus on enjoying the present day, and the present moment.  And trust that all of your dreams will come true.  If you set your mind to something, you can achieve it.  Take everything one day at a time.

Lots of Love!

Always Embrace....

...your individuality.

Happy Wednesday, guys and girls!  The temperatures are on the rise here in LA - and I still am amazed by how this can happen in the middle of January!!  So crazy, yet very blessed for the warmth!  I hope that all of you are staying warm, too.  I know that most of the USA is pretty chilly right now, so i hope that this post will warm your hearts up a little bit!

The goal of my blog posts is to help inspire you to all to be who you are.  As an actor living here in Hollywood, the main lesson that I have learned through all of the acting classes that I've taken, and all of the wonderful experiences that I've been privileged to have so far, is actually a very simple lesson:  to be yourself.  After all, as an actor as well in all areas of life, YOU are the only thing that sets you apart from everyone else on this planet.  Simple concept, yes?  (Check this out for more on this!)

There's only one of you out there.  And no matter what you do for a living, no matter your economic status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, any of these things - you're an amazing individual.  And I believe that we all have so much to offer the world, simply by totally embracing who we are.  Share your gifts.  Your gifts will become more apparent to you as you become more aware of you who are as a person.  Click here for some tips about self-awareness.

Be you - and love you!!  (I mean this in the way that YOU should love YOU.  But, I also mean that I love you.  Haha <3
