It Can All Change in a Moment - So Let's Live it Up!

Hi guys and girls!  Happy Wednesday.  I'm happy that you've stopped by for some Daley Motivation ;)

A LOT has been happening in the world this week, hasn't it?  My heart goes out to all of the individuals affected by the intense natural disasters that we've seen.  In particular, the little island of St. Croix in the USVI holds a special place in my heart, and I send my love to all of my friends on the island!

How has your week been so far?  Even with all of the craziness that seems to be happening in the world, I hope that your week is shaping up to be a good one.  I had a pretty interesting time last weekend - a great time with my family in Orange County, - but it all culminated with a little car crash on the freeway.  Fortunately it looks as though everything will be OK - but I was certainly a bit nervous!  This event reminded me of just how quickly things change.  I write about this often, and I felt that it was important to touch upon the subject again.

We never know what is going to happen in life.  From one moment to the next, literally everything can change and often we don't see it coming.  A car accident is obviously a perfect example of this.  But in general, it is very important to take a good look around and appreciate everything that we have in life.  Right now.

Right now is all that we have!  And if we're here, alive and well, that's a pretty amazing gift.  Live it up.

Love you all,

Jesse

Control

Hey guys and girls -- Happy Friday!

I wanted to write a quick blog post regarding the topic of "control."  I should say, rather, the "illusion" of control.

I listened to a wonderful meditation on the topic of "control" on an app called, "Calm" recently.  It helped to remind me that - as I talk about often on my blog and on my YouTube Channel, - there is really not much that is within our control in life.  All that we have is this moment.

Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma are perfect examples of this; how we do not know what tomorrow will bring.  The devastation that these two storms have unleashed is absolutely shocking and heart wrenching.  And mother nature's devastation was completely out of the control of anyone.

So, what do you do if you're faced with a catastrophe such as the above examples of the hurricanes?  Or, on a smaller scale, how do you handle something that you have no "control" over?  You take things one minute at a time.

In life in general, that is all that we can do.  Worry and fear will get us no where.  Taking life and all that it throws at us one moment at a time and focusing on what needs to be accomplished is the best way to handle every situation that we're faced with.

The idea of "control" truly is an illusion.  We set up our lives and create systems to feel as though we're in control, however the reality is that anything can happen at any moment.  Being flexible to handle every situation will help you to keep moving, even during the toughest of times.

My heart goes out to all of those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.  And if you're in the path of Irma, please pay attention to your local officials and if you're asked to evacuate, please, please do it.  This is an incredibly dangerous storm.

Much love and blessings,

Jesse
