What's up guys and girls!!

I hope you're enjoying your Wednesday!

I'll often chat with new actors or individuals who are just considering a career in entertainment.  My first piece of advice is always the same:  Read "Hit The Ground Running" written by one of the most amazing mentors that I ever had.  Her name is Carolyne Barry, and the link to this amazing book is just below this post.

This book was incredibly helpful to me during the first years of my acting career and throughout my immersion into the wild world of Hollywood.  I'd highly encourage all new actors (and even actors who have been in the biz for a while) to check it out!  So much great information from an incredible individual.

Lots of Love and Happy Acting!

Listening to Your Instincts

Happy Wednesday, guys and girls!

It's super early here in Hollywood.  I feel like I'm always awake haha.  And while I'm up, I thought I'd quickly post a little bit about listening to instincts.

In my experience, our instincts - sometimes we refer to them our intuition or as the little voice inside of us - are typically always spot-on.  But it's difficult to trust those feelings all the time.

That's totally understandable, because usually when we're talking about listening to instincts, some sort of decision is being made.  Obviously, decisions are not always easy.

When we're very honest with ourselves, however, when faced with any decision, if we take the time to truly listen to ourselves and how we feel about something, we "know" what feels right, deep down.  And as much as we try to convince ourselves otherwise, that nagging feeling of "knowing" what is best for ourselves never fully goes away.

I was recently faced with a situation where I needed to make a choice, and I didn't immediately know what the right choice would be.  So, I took some time and I paid attention to how I was feeling about the overall circumstances.  And I was very honest with myself about how I was "truly" feeling.

When I made my ultimate decision, recognized that within myself, I knew all along what I needed to do.  I knew what decision needed to be made because my body and mind were sending me signals of what was best for me.  And the older that I get, the more that I am beginning to realize how powerful these feelings are.  And how they're usually always correct.

It's impossible to predict the future, and when faced with any decision, you might feel stressed and uncertain about what the right thing to do is.  But take the time to pay attention to what your instincts are telling you.  There is a reason that you feel the way that you do.

Trust your instincts, friends.  They won't let you down.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! <3

This day is all about the idea of love, right?!

Well, regardless of whether you're in a relationship or not, take a couple of minutes today to remind yourself of the love that you have for YOU.  Love for yourself is super, super important.

Especially for those of us who are actors, we deal with lots of rejection on a day to day basis, and if we don't love ourselves and treat ourselves with kindness it will only make life more difficult.  And we don't want that!

You're perfect as you are.  Be true to yourself and love yourself for exactly who you are because there's only one of you!  You are loved by many people.  Be sure that one of the individuals who loves you is yourself.

I've listed a great book below with suggestions for learning about how to love yourself.  Check it out!

Lots of Love!!

What's up guys and girls and Happy Tuesday!

I wanted to share an article that I wrote a little while back regarding "Nailing The Callback!"

As many of you (my awesome actor friends) know, getting a callback after an audition is super exciting, but it can also make you a bit nervous.  You obviously want to do the best job that you can do and hopefully book the gig!

So, without further ado, here are some tips for having a great callback.  Good luck!!

Staying on Track to Your Goals - No Excuses! :)

How's it going guys and girls!!

I hope your Monday has been a great one so far.

I wanted to quickly share a link with you to a book that literally changed my life.  "Excuses Begone!" by Dr. Wayne Dyer.  (The link is below, and I highly encourage you to check this book out.)

As I wrote about in my own book, "An Aversion to the Definitive," several years ago I started reading books by Dr. Wayne Dyer that helped to motivate me to keep moving toward my goals as an actor and a writer.  One of the most inspirational and helpful books that I read is the one below, "Excuses Begone!" and it helped to keep me focused on achieving what I had set out to do.  Dr. Dyer's book helped me to recognize certain "excuses" about why something might not work out, and I began to realize how much I was inadvertently holding myself back.

Guys n girls, there are sooo many excuses for why we think something isn't going to work out and we often use excuses to hold ourselves back from reaching our highest potential.  Don't let this happen to you!  You're way too talented to let someone talk you out of (or talk yourself out of) going after your dreams.

Anyway, just wanted to share this book with you to help keep you motivated today.

Let me know if you buy it!

Lots of Love and stay motivated!

Happy Monday, guys and girls!  Hope you're doing well.

I quickly wanted to take a minute to remind all of you how special you are.  Each one of you out there is totally unique and you have a vision and a dream unlike anyone else on this planet.  How amazing is that?!

I believe that you have a responsibility to yourself to honor your dream and to honor your life by loving yourself and reminding yourself of how incredible you are.

The possibilities for your life are totally limitless.  In order to unlock your potential, you must first unlock unconditional love for who you are.

Be you and be true to yourself.  You're perfect as you are!

(If you haven't read my book yet, I list more examples of this subject!  Here's the link.)
