You gotta rise above your fears. ALL of 'em! Now, many of my close friends might be thinking, "Jesse, you're ALWAYS nervous about something, so you can't talk!!" Yeah... well ok that may is true. Honestly, even though you may not think so, I am actually I really nervous person! Not in social situations or things like that, but I worry a lot about things that I have no control over. Let's take one example: I ALWAYS worry about getting sick. It's kind of ridiculous and I use way too much hand sanitizer haa. I mean, there's only so much you can do to prevent getting sick, and when you get sick, you just deal with it. Worrying about something that you have no control over doesn't do any good. My friend Liz Izzo always tells me, "don't worry about things until you have to worry about them". She's absolutely right.
I have found that worry really leads you nowhere in life. All that it does is make you feel scared and unhappy. Let's do a little exercise: Think about something that you are worried about. Go on, I'll wait. ;)
OK. Now that you're thinking of something that is causing you to worry, ask yourself, "do I have any real control over what I am worrying about? Usually, the answer is no, you don't have much control over the issue. We worry when we feel that we are not in control of a situation. Yet, when you really think about it, there is not much in our life that is in our control. Anything could happen at any second. (Remember, we are on a tiny planet floating in the universe, so ANYTHING can happen that is out of our control!)
The only thing that you have any sense of "control" over is how you act and feel in this exact moment in your life. You can either choose to worry, or choose to take action. If you are worried about "not having money", for example, (which I often fear), take a step back and remind yourself that you will find a way out of the financial difficulty that you are in. Worrying about not having money will not create more money! All it will do is create more fears, anxiety, and more problems with not having money!
My point is to focus on the only thing that you really have any kind of "control" over: THIS MOMENT! Choose to be happy, and to not worry- regardless of how difficult things may be in your life right now. Tough times only make you stronger, believe me. I once read that "action is worry's worst enemy". That's a great statement! Take the bull by the horns, and don't let fear or worry stop you. xxxx
What's up everyone!! Thanks for coming back to BEHIND THE SIGN, where you get a glimpse of what life is TRULY like living as an artist in Hollywood! Yep, it's amazing, and yep, it can be tough- just like any other job! What I am doing here in L.A. is really not all that different than any of you. I have a little dream, and I'm working toward making it a reality! No matter what your dream is, and no matter what it is that you are trying to accomplish in your life, you must have faith.
You must have faith that everything will work out for the best. You must have faith that the choices which you have made in your life have led you to this very moment, and that things are happening the way that they are intended to happen. That doesn't always mean that things are going to be easy. You may be going through a difficult time today. If you are struggling right now, know that it will not last forever. Things will always get better! But you have to believe, and you cannot give up.
Every day, make it part of your daily (DALEY ha) routine to practice "wanting" the things that you already have in your life. For example, if you are blessed enough to be able to read this blog with your own eyes that WORK, appreciate that! If you can walk without restrictions, appreciate that blessing. There are many, many blessings that many of us take for granted each and every day. Try not to focus on what you want. Want what you already have.
Only YOU can make yourself happy, and I personally believe that the key to happiness is to have faith that things in your life are happening for a reason, and appreciate everything!! #KeepTheFAITH!!
