What's up everyone!!  Thanks again for reading my blog.  Man, how is it already fall??!!  I mean here in Southern California we don't really experience "fall" the way that the rest of the world does, but it's crazy to think that it is getting to be the end of September!  Time really does fly.  (WOW this was a long introduction to this post haha.)  Anyways, tonight's post is directed primarily towards all of my friends who are actors, musicians, performers.  And, well, I suppose really anyone who is facing a difficult situation at the moment.  (That is probably a lot of people given that it's tough out there these days!)  Well I have a suggestion for you:  set one specific goal.  Yep, set one.  I realize that there are MANY things that we all would like to accomplish in life.  Maybe you're reading this and want to change careers, move to a different city, or find a girlfriend or boyfriend.  Maybe, like me, you've got a huge list of goals that you want to achieve!  (I think that it's awesome by the way to have a list of all that you're aiming to accomplish.)  It is also super important to take confidence in knowing that you WILL accomplish all of your goals.  However I challenge you to set them one at a time and work on each goal individually.

In my opinion, when you one goal it becomes much easier to achieve that one goal namely because all of your energy is going into completing the one task at hand.  As an artist, I believe that we struggle with this concept because we want to do everything creatively and are not always great at the "business" side of things.  I am completely guilty of that haha.   (That's why some people truly are GREAT at working in very intense businesses as opposed to working in the arts.)  Everyone's different, and we can all learn from each other.

If you're a like me and great time with your creativity but tend to have a bit of a hard time "business-wise", set one goal that you want to accomplish and write it down.  You will achieve it rather quickly, whether you believe me or not!  Actors: let's say that your one goal is to book a national commercial.  This now becomes the task that must be accomplished before anything else in your life!  You then must tackle the task at hand!  This includes researching every single commercial casting director, meeting them, finding a great commercial agent to help you, etc.  It will be tough, but can do it.  Start today and set your one goal, accomplish it, and move down your list!  You will also tend to find that once you achieve that one goal, the others on your list become more and more attainable!

ANYONE can do ANYTHING that he or she puts their mind and spirit into.  So, what's your goal?  ;)

Hey guys n girls!! Thanks for reading my blog as always!  You may have noticed that I capitalized the word, "YOUR" in the title of this posting.  The reason why is because the purpose of this post is to remind you that YOU are the only person in control of the choices that you make in YOUR life!  AND the possibilities are endless for you to create what you want in YOUR life!!  I feel that all too often people make choices based on what other people think.
That's not always a bad thing, often times our family and friends suggest ideas to us out of the kindness of their hearts, as they want to see us succeed!  Yet, I firmly believe that you should not do something unless you want to do it.

Let's use myself as an example here.  As you all know, I have been pursuing a career as an actor for about 4 years now.  It's super tough!  But it's also super amazing, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!!  However, I have certain friends and family members who have expressed their opinion to me about possibly changing my career path for a more stable line of work, so that I can have steady money coming in.  As much as I appreciate their concern, and as much as I understand where it comes from, I am not going to stop pursuing acting at the moment.  The reason why is that I want to keep doing it!!  I am fully aware of the fact that this industry is hard to break into, yet  I am also fully aware that you can do ANYTHING that you put your mind to!  And no matter what anyone tells me, at the end of the day it is always my choice for the choices that I make in my life.

The same is true for all of you out there.  Whether you want to take a new job, move to a new city, or simply try something new, don't let anybody stop you!  And don't do something or move somewhere simply because someone else feels that it is right for you.  Only YOU know what is truly right for you.  Mental health specialist Dr. Wayne Dyer often writes about this in his books.  Definitely check out his work.  Envision what you would like to accomplish, as clearly as you possibly can!  Once you know what you want, you will eventually reach your goals if you work hard, (pray often if you're religious!) and never give up.  So get out there and follow YOUR heart!  <3

Hmmm... #TheNextBigThing ?  My Thoughts On This!

This morning I woke up to the number 1 world wide trend on twitter being " #TheNextBigThing " and I just had to post this quick message.  Hollywood is a crazy place.  That's pretty much a well known fact at this point, right!  There are literally hundreds of thousands of people that come out here to try their luck at becoming "the next big thing"- and you know what, I think that is awesome!!  However, it is my hope that anyone who is reading this and is a performer who's thinking about giving this industry a try, I have a little message for ya!  You CAN make it as an actor or a singer, dancer, etc.  You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to and you can be anyone that you want to be!  However, PLEASE don't come into the entertainment business with a goal of only  trying to become famous or trying to become the "next big thing"!  If that is your only goal, chances are it will leave you feeling disappointed.  --And I don't like to see anyone upset or disappointed!

These days it seems almost as if it is somehow "easy" to attain fame and fortune, maybe because of all the reality shows that are on TV, and YouTube, that sort of thing.  The problem is that fame is very fleeting, especially these days, and it seems to cause tons of chaos in people's lives rather than help them!  When you really think about it, fame is not necessarily a great thing unless it is used to truly help others who are less fortunate.  My point for performers reading this is:  don't focus on fame and fortune.  Focus on performing, entertaining, and making other people smile!  Focus on doing a great job, and always continue your training in your career!  If you're a singer for example, work on your art and you will be successful, no matter how "famous" you may or may not become.  Actors, focus on working on your craft and you will also succeed!

I can't tell you how many people I have talked to that base their own success off of the opinions of other people.  They feel that if they are not the most "famous" people or the biggest movie stars, that they have somehow "failed."  This is simply not true.  The idea of being famous and actually being famous are very different.  From what I have seen from living in Hollywood, fame should NEVER be the goal of a performer.  Just do the absolute best that you can do in your work, and be happy about that!  -- Again, I believe the goal should be to be happy, not famous nor anything else.

Here's what I can guarantee:  If you follow your dreams and try your very best, you WILL be successful.  I can't guarantee that you will become famous, but who cares about that!  If you're happy, that is all that ever matters.  And hey you never know, maybe you'll get one of those Hollywood Walk of Fame stars in the end after all!  That'd just be icing on the cake.   ;)

One Day At A Time!

I have learned many life lessons while living here in Hollywood.  As I've mentioned before in my blog, I've truly seen the best of the best and the worst of the worst, especially when it comes to people's behavior.  I think that the biggest lesson which I've learned however, is to take life one day at a time.  In this business there are literally no guarantees, and there are no second chances.  I've learned to do the best that I can with every single day- any opportunity that I have, whether it be an audition, an acting class, or anything in between.  All any of us can do is to do the best that we can in every situation we encounter in life.

The reality for each and every one of us is that life in general comes with no guarantees, and no  second chances!  So you must do everything in your power to try and be happy as much as possible.  You only get to take this ride called "Life" one time.  Do your best to make it a good ride, you have the power to create happiness in your life.  Bottom line to this post:  love and smile way too often!!  :))
