Where is the Love?

Hey there guys and girls -

This has been quite a difficult week for the world, hasn't it?  Between the horrible events that occurred in Charlottesville, VA, here in the USA and yesterday, with the tragedy of an attack in Barcelona, Spain, we're left wondering:  Where is the love?

I attended a church service last weekend here in Hollywood at Mosaic Church, and the pastor addressed this very question.  I thoroughly enjoyed what he had to say about the idea that love will always triumph over hate.  And he explained that in order for love to win, we all need to use our voices in order to stand up against hatred.

If you're reading this, then you have many, many opportunities to share love in your own life.  And you don't need to think that it's necessary to start a non-profit organization or your own charity to do this.  (Of course, if you can do these things, it would be amazing!!)

However, sharing love with someone can be as simple as sharing a smile or even just saying "hello" to a stranger that you pass by on the street.  Or, maybe at a stop-light while driving, smile to the person in the car next to you. Better yet, if you both have your windows down, why not say, "Hope you're having a good day!"

Ok, so yes, some people are going to find that behavior to be somewhat random and maybe even a bit weird, but my point is, what if it wasn't random.  What if we ALL did these things every single day?  In this sort of scenario, we'd all have opportunities every day to befriend other individuals, and our communities would simply thrive with more companionship, happiness and love.  And it's not any kind of far-fetched idea.  It begins with each of us making a decision to share love and kindness in all of our moments.

I believe that the majority of individuals who are reading this blog are already some of the most loving people out there!  I just wanted to remind you that you truly have the opportunity to share a lot of love by doing something as simple as sharing a smile and choosing kindness in all of your moments.

Love will always win, and it's up to all of us to ensure that we stand up to hate.
Sending lots of love to Charlottesville, Barcelona, and worldwide.

Love you all,

Jesse
