"There's A Place ofF Ocean Avenue..."

...this lyric is from one of my all time favorite songs, "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard!  I just heard it on my Pandora account, and it brought back a lot of memories.  And I thought that I would write some of my thoughts here on my blog and connect with all of you!  Thanks so much for being here!

You know, guys and girls, time seriously goes by so quickly!  It's already the last day of January! Crazy, right?!  This is how it always is though; time goes by, and then I'm shocked at how fast it's passed.  "Ocean Avenue" was my favorite song during my senior year of high school, and sometimes it doesn't even seem possible that I've been out of school for so long!  Heck, even this blog has been around since 2012!!

It wasn't all that long ago, I suppose. Time seemingly flies by because of how much happens in life. And I believe in my twenties, so much life happens that a ton of experiences are packed into a relatively short amount of time!

"Where's this post leading, Jesse?" (You might be wondering.)  -- That's a good question!  Haha. --

I bring up this song lyric and these thoughts as a simple reminder to aim to stay focused on the present as often as possible.  I find myself struggling with this sometimes, although I remind my readers of the importance of it!  Dr. Wayne Dyer (who's teachings have helped me tremendously as an actor and a person) points out that it can be a challenge to always appreciate and be fully aware of the current moment.  But, I believe that remaining fully present and grateful for what we have right now is an incredibly important aspect of utilizing the current moment as productively as possible as well as enjoying life!

Rather than constantly thinking (or worse, worrying) about the future or even what's happened in the past, try to remain right here.

What are you thankful for, right now, friends?

Love ya, and thanks for reading!

Jesse
