Routines?  ...Not Really What Happens as an Actor

Happy Thursday, guys and girls!!  I've realized recently that it is really nice waking up early.  That may come as an obvious statement to some of you, but for me, I have generally preferred being a night-owl as opposed to rising as an early-bird!  I find, however, that I can get a lot done in the morning, as the world is still sort of "still asleep."  Interesting that it's only taken me 27 years to understand this.  Haha.

What's your schedule looking like today, my friends?  Comment below, and let me know what you're up to!  I'm off to Runyon Canyon this morning (which is where all actors go to escape the city at times!)  I of course also love to escape Hollywood and go to the beaches out here as well!  (Check out my other blog up at the top right of this page - which I'll be updating very soon!)

After Runyon, I'm off to work (I have several day-jobs as an actor, and I'm very fortunate to have them!)  Speaking of schedules, (and routines,) I'd like to point out that living the life of an actor truly is incredible, because no two days are the same.  We don't really ever have a set "routine" in this career-path.  Although this can certainly be challenging at times, I feel that it keeps life exciting, and forces me to live in the present (without thinking too much about the past or the future.)

Acting, as an art form and a career - is exciting in general, and I feel very blessed to be on this journey!  I'm also very happy that you all are along for the ride.  I have many plans about things that I hope to do as an actor (and in life, outside of acting of course,) and it is my hope that all of you also share an excitement about your lives and the excitement which can come with each new day!  You have today, so live it up!!  Don't let it slip by, and don't become "complacent."  Life's too short to be boring.  And if you're seeking a change, you can create one.  (It can happen in just a few minutes. Click here if you don't believe me!)

Have a happy Thursday, guys and girls.  And be excited to be alive!  :)

There Is Always A Reason

Good (early) morning and Happy Wednesday, guys and girls!  How's the week been treating you so far?  I recently returned to the "mainland" of California after a beautiful Labor Day weekend on Catalina Island!  If you haven't been there, try to make it a point to go!  It's absolutely stunning!

While I was over on the island, I thought a lot about my life, and about some of the choices that I've made so far in my life and in my career.  Clearly as many of you know, I love to think and reflect about life.  Sometimes it totally baffles my mind about how amazing life really is.

Although times can certainly become tough and stressful, we must not lose sight of the beauty of the day.  Through the struggles and the amazing times in your life, keep reminding yourself that there is always a reason for why something is or is not happening.  Although you might not know what that reason is right now, it will become clear to you as time moves on.  There are no mistakes.

I constantly remind my actor friends to keep moving - through the ups and the downs of the industry.  (I especially write about this topic on acting.about.com!)  But regardless of whether you're an actor or not, know that you are special, and that no matter what you may be facing today, you can face it bravely, and you will learn from every experience that you have.  I feel very blessed to be able to share my thoughts about life and following dreams with all of you.  I truly appreciate all of your support in my career as an actor, writer, and just your overall friendship!

Everything happens for a reason.  Today, remind yourself of several reasons to feel happy.  I'll give you one reason: You're beautiful;  Just the way you are!  :)

^^ I love that song ha!
